Harry D. "Donnie" Dixon, Jr. is a native of Waycross, Georgia and concentrates his practice in general criminal & civil litigation, in federal & state courts, and white collar criminal investigations. He is a graduate of Waycross High School (1971), Valdosta State College with a B.A. in History (1974) and the University Of Georgia School Of Law (1977).

He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since June 1977 and is enrolled to practice before the United States District Courts of the Southern, Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. He also is a member of the bar of the Georgia Court Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Dixon served as law clerk to Judge Marvin Hartley of the Middle Judicial Circuit of Georgia from 1977 to 1978. Thereafter he became an Assistant District Attorney for the Waycross Judicial Circuit, from 1978 until 1979, then entered the private practice of law with Bennett, Pedrick, & Bennett of Waycross, Georgia, where he engaged in the general practice of law.

He was elected District Attorney for the Waycross Judicial Circuit in 1982 and served in that capacity from January 1983 until January 1994. While District Attorney, he served as President of the District Attorney's Association of Georgia. He also was a member of the Prosecuting Attorney's Council of Georgia. In 1993 he was named "District Attorney of the Year." During this time he also was the resident of the
Waycross Bar Association.

In 1993, Mr. Dixon was nominated by Senator Sam Nunn and thereafter appointed by President Bill Clinton to be the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. As United States Attorney he was honored to be appointed to the Attorney General's Advisory Committee by Attorney General Janet Reno. In addition to serving on this committee, he also served on the Office of Management and Budget Subcommittee, the Environmental Crimes Subcommittee, the White Collar Crimes Subcommittee, the Healthcare Fraud Subcommittee, as well as the Executive Working
Group: composed of members of the National District Attorney's Association, the National Association of Attorney's General, and the Department of Justice.
